That's why this slip cover is 100% removable, washable, bleach-pen-able, durable, cheap, compostable-when-it's-finally ruined, cotton fabric. There is nothing, I've discovered, that can withstand kids and look good for long. So I figure I'll get what I want and wash it a lot and replace it when it's trashed. Sewing one of these up is (honestly) that easy. -E-
Crap. As usual, you are both inspiring and frustrating. Much like your "see, make a skirt for yourself in half an hour!" class, things like this seem soooo easy when watching you do them, listen to you explain them, or see them. Then I get a wad of fabric in my actual hands and nothing goes as planned. I appreciate knowing people like you exist.
I have been cracking up over this ever since you wrote it, Amber. I really don't know what to say. I am sorry for being amazing? Hm. Truly, I am sorry for not being a better teacher. This thing is honestly (there she goes again) not hard. Cut a big rectangle of fabric for one section. Cut another for the adjoining section. Pin them to the couch, right side in, and pin them together where there's a seam. Then pull it off and sew it all up. Repeat until the whole thing's covered. It's all very seat-of-your-pants and forgiving.
Not...sure...whether that proved or disproved your point. Let me know if you need step-by-steps, I still have another couch to do! ~E~

Beautiful!! I've got a friend coming tomorrow to help me do exactly that with some armchairs. How serendipitous to see yours for inspiration today!
Wow, nice job!
WOW. Just...wow. Words have failed me. That's amazing.
Erin, I'm dying for light cream or white couches. Just not dying for what children will do to them. Beautiful job. I'm jealous.
