a constant
Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 3:20AM Yesterday was the annual summer picnic hosted by the company that Father Bird works for. It was held at a local water park, and as we shuffled through the gates in our bathing suits I wondered how we'd even recognize anybody he works with. Since he doesn't actually go to work, he hardly knows anyone there. I looked at the faces of the swimsuited, sunscreened people passing, and gave it up as useless.
But then a wet man passed me, and I heard him say, "Well, see, force equals mass times acceleration. And if the mass is constant..." I looked around to see who he was talking to, and saw a little girl in a ruffled bathing suit, probably no more than about five years old, trotting at his heels.
I don't, in general, like to make generalizations. But in this instance I had to shake my head and chuckle. Engineers. They may look like other people, but they sure don't talk like them.

LOL---so true!! The same things happen at Shane's company functions---only with telephone system design.
