Fall has finally come to our corner of Georgia...

And suddenly the world is burnished, and glowing, pensive, and quiet, reminding us mildly of fragility and mortality. 

An extra blanket, a cup of peppermint tea, the return of the joy of snuggling with children no longer sweaty all the time.

A rake, a pile of leaves, socks and sweaters, a crockpot full of stew and two pieces of trick-or-treat candy after lunch for the rest of the year.
