a new color
Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 5:59AM When I was a little girl, I knew what I wanted to do when I grew up.

I wanted to invent something new.

Create something that nobody had ever thought of.

Develop a cure, design a gadget, write something brilliant that would make people ponder.
Maybe even discover a new color.

Sometimes you have an afternoon that, for some reason, makes you look back at your past goals.

Nothing at all in my life right now would qualify as something no one has ever done. What we're doing at our house has been done thousands, millions, billions of times before. It's the exact opposite of that little girl's goal. Would she be disappointed in me?

Maybe. But she didn't know there was something better.

Oh, I love this... the trick is to remember that it IS way better! :)
I absolutely love the pictures you post.
Aww, Shauna, I'm blushing. Thanks.
So true, thank you for the reminder. Mothering is the best.
